Lifestyle Express store’s charity family fun day proves major hit
Lifestyle Express Winscombe, in Weston Super Mare, Somerset invited local children and their families to celebrate its third birthday with a party on Saturday 12 August which was themed around Disney’s Frozen.
All guests enjoyed birthday cake and ice cream and the store laid on prizes awarded to children who got into the spirit of day by dressing up. A local face painter was on hand to help the children transform into their favourite characters, while Elsa made an appearance to entertain guests by performing the most popular songs from the hit children’s movie.
The party also raised money for the store’s charity of the year, Time is Precious, which supports terminally ill children and their families.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be celebrating our third birthday and there seemed to be no better way to do it than to involve the local community,” said Janette Tucker, Business Manager, Lifestyle Express Winscombe. “As our birthday fell slap bang in the middle of the summer holidays, we wanted to offer something fun for the children – and free for the parents – and it was wonderful to see the children get involved and help us get into the birthday spirit.”
“This is a great example of how our retailers can play such an integral part within their communities,” said Stuart Johnson, Retail Controller, Landmark Wholesale. “Being the heart of the local community is a great way for convenience retailers to stand out from the competition, offering great products, great prices and fantastic personal customer service.”
